Hope for the Nations of course. : )
Welcome to PostmilStill, a blog dedicated to exploring the theology of postmillennialism and its implications for our lives today. That’s right… despite all the fire and chaos headlines that your mainstream mouth pieces are continually spewing, we are in fact #datpostmil… Still!
Our mission is to promote a positive and hopeful vision of the future based on the biblical promise that the gospel of Jesus Christ will ultimately take complete dominion over this world no matter how hard it seems to kick and scream. We believe that this transformation will come about gradually, not the way Kingdoms of this earth tend to take dominion, with armies and such… and that the Church has an active role to play in bringing it about, like storming the gates of hell for instance. (See Math 16:17-19 if you have doubts about that.)
Our content is based on a Reformed and covenantal perspective, rooted in the historic teachings of the Church. We seek to engage with believers of various eschatological leanings in our discussions of postmillennialism and to provide a platform for thoughtful dialogue and critical thinking.
At PostmilStill, we believe that our hope for the future is not a naive optimism, but a grounded confidence in the power of the gospel to change hearts and minds. We invite you to join us on this journey of discovery and to explore the rich theological heritage of postmillennialism.
Thank you for visiting our site, and we hope that you find our content informative, engaging, and inspiring.
Matthew 16:18 (KJV 1900): the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. That’s not exactly the same as “storming the gates of hell”.
Are gates a defensive object or an offensive object?
Defensive.
Prevail: “prove more powerful than opposing forces; be victorious.”
So those gates are not prevailing… Against an opposing force, what is that opposing force?
The church.
So while you are correct that is not the “Exact same thing” as in .. it’s not identical language… It is the exact same sentiment and illustration.
